Sandeep Aneja

Sandeep founded Kaizenvest in 2009 as India’s first Education focused fund, and has been instrumental in building the firm's knowledge and client networks across US, Europe and Asia. Prior to Kaizenvest, his experience in venture capital in Silicon Valley at Outlook Ventures and WingSpring included working with several early stage technology companies from sourcing to exit. He combines this with experience in start-up operations leadership, and management consulting in the US. Sandeep drives overall fund strategy, investor relationships, and works closely with promoters to build a path towards successful growth and value creation. He has an MBA from Graduate School of Business at Stanford University

Akhil Shahani

Akhil’s family has been in the education sector for the last 60 years and are involved in managing 24 institutions in Mumbai. He brings his vast network in the education space to Kaizenvest. After completing his MBA at Kellogg Graduate School of Management over 18 years ago, Akhil started a range of ventures in the educational sector. These include a business school for his educational trust and a vocational training franchise. He also runs the non profit SAGE Foundation which provides education and skills training for 100 villages in Maharashtra. SAGE was recognized for its work at the Clinton Global Initiative in 2008. He currently serves on the CII (Confederation of Indian Industry) Higher Education Committee and is a Past President of the American Alumni Association, which promotes academic linkages between US and Indian Universities. He is a regular speaker at educational conferences and had been profiled in media. He has received the ‘Bharat Shiromani Award’ for his work in the education. Other awardees include Mother Teresa, Dalai Lama and N.R. Narayan Murthy. In his spare time, he is actively involved in mentoring startup social entrepreneurs and promoting the cause of philanthropy.

Christy Tran Minh Trang

Christy joined Kaizenvest in 2025 and is responsible for evaluating and executing new investments. Prior to Kaizenvest, she spent 3 years at Edhec Infrastructure Singapore as a senior research analyst focusing on market analysis and company evaluation. She holds a Bachelor of Business with Banking & Finance major from Nanyang Technological University, where she was one of 4 Vietnamese students receiving the prestigious Singapore government scholarship. She also passed level III of the CFA program in August 2018.

Sakshi Jain

Sakshi joined Kaizenvest in 2025 and focuses on analysing potential investment opportunities for the firm and ongoing monitoring of investment portfolio. Prior to Kaizenvest, she worked with the Investment Banking Division with HDFC Bank and Goldman Sachs with experience in mergers and acquisitions for public and private companies and equity capital markets across sectors. Sakshi has an MBA in Finance & Strategy from Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode where she was a Merit Scholar.

Indrayan Ghosh

Indrayan joined Kaizenvest in 2018 and focuses on analyzing investment opportunities for the firm. Prior to Kaizenvest, he worked with a boutique private equity consulting firm where he was responsible for conducting due-diligence processes and corresponding industry research for a US middle market private equity firm with over $1B of capital under management. He holds a B.Tech. degree from VJTI, Mumbai.

Anand Sudarshan

Anand Sudarshan is the Director and Co-Founder of Sylvant Advisors. He is the former CEO of Manipal Global Education Services and a recognized leader in the education sector. He is an Independent Director of NIIT Limited and a member of the Government of India’s committee on Corporate Sector Participation in Higher Education and a Member of the committee formed by GoI for long-term recommendations on Technology in Education. He founded EDGE (education sector think-tank) and is a member of National Education Groups, FICCI & CII (two leading industry groups in India) and Charter Member – TiE and Trustee – Head Held High Foundation and a Mentor for Amnesty India.

Jens Zimmermann

Jens Zimmermann is Managing Partner at Halo Investment, a principal investment and corporate finance firm headquartered in Dubai. Halo invests globally in education and other sectors. Before Halo, Jens was Partner & Managing Director at New Silk Route Growth Capital (NSR), a USD 1.3bn fund with investments across the Middle East and Asia. He has over two decades of Private Equity experience and a track record of building successful businesses internationally.

After working for Booz, Allen & Hamilton’s acquisition services team in the early 90’s, he joined a pioneer buyout group in Germany in 1995, before co-founding HGU Hamburg Private Equity AG in 1998. Since 2004, Jens has been working in Private Equity in South Asia and the Middle East. He has led over 40 Private Equity investments, served on over 20 boards and founded several companies in the US, Europe and Asia. Jens has a Masters in Business Administration degree from the Harvard Business School.

Wayne Merrick

Wayne Merrick joined Kaizenvest in 2017 as Operating Partner. Wayne is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Advantage Ltd., which was acquired by Juniper Networks in 2000 due to the significant business Wayne and his team had brought to Juniper. Wayne then became the Regional Managing Director for Juniper Asia Pacific Region after the acquisition. As the Regional Director, Wayne formulated and executed sales strategy and tactics as well as developed strong relationships with key partners throughout the region driving upwards of $150Mil in sales in the first two years.

After this, Wayne was Managing Director and set up Panopto APAC, which became the fastest growing region for Panopto.

He build out the team and channel partners in APAC creating a large business for the company. PAL has collectively helped over 120 technology companies to establish operations in the Asia Pacific region.

Prior to PAL, Wayne was the Business Development Director for I.T.S., the services and integration arm of SITA (the worldwide Airline Telecom Network). He came to the Asia region in 1987 as the Marketing Manager for Wang Labs after 5 years in the USA as Sales Manager for them in San Francisco. He is a native of San Francisco and holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Montana.
